Traditional 19th-century refectory tables were designed with great inward efficiency to accommodate many chairs and guests, and provide great comfort and legroom. The centerpiece of this exquisite set is a dramatic refectory table handcrafted from solid mahogany with rustic hinge details and hand-painted acanthus borderwork. The top is naturally finished with a deep stain and the base is hand-painted. The tall ladder- back chairs complement the table, with lathe-turned legs and cross-bracing, and hand-carved details on the backrests and frame. Artful distressing on all pieces adds to their heirloom character. Handcrafted by an eco-friendly, fair trade co-op that supports aggressive reforestation efforts and sustainable practices.
