Born and raised in Ohio, Claudia began traveling internationally while working for TWA. She took advantage of an opportunity to study in France by attending La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine in Paris and "staging" in the famed Michelin three-star Alsatian restaurant, Auberge de l'Ill. Since then, Claudia's love of culinary adventure, travel, and humanitarian pursuits has led her throughout Europe, Africa, and Latin America. She is currently a 2012 United Nations delegate to the Commission on the Status of Women. Claudia's bright energy, kindness, expertise and style make her a welcome sight on any project she is involved with.
Claudia is frequently seen in the credits of award-winning food television and cookbooks. Her onscreen television experience began early in her career with her own cooking show, The Taste Bud, on ABC Network. She works on a regular basis with prominent Food Network Chefs including Michael Chiarello, Jacques Pepin, Joanne Weir, Guy Fieri, and Cheryl Forberg. Her signature touch as Art and Set Director of these programs is always evident with her alluring sense of design. Claudia also has provided food styling for Chef Michael Chiarello's NapaStyle online and print catalogue. While working with Chef Chiarello on the Food Television Network Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello, the show earned two Emmy Awards.
Recently Claudia produced the prestigious Michael Chiarello, Bottega Cookbook and is currently working on another book project with the chef. She produced a major production,
Battle of the Chefs, at the Culinary Institute Academy in February, 2011, and will direct and teach at the newly launched NapaStyle Culinary Program. She was the director of food and wine for the very distinguished Napa Valley event Kitchen in the Vineyard and assists in producing the internationally acclaimed music and art production Festival del Sole, Napa Valley as the director of the highly attended Taste of Napa Valley event.
Professionally, in Claudia's venturesome and diverse career, she has had the opportunity to travel and work across the nation, as well as abroad. She was a partner in the travel trade magazine Outbound Traveler, and has acted as Senior Editor, journalist, special event coordinator and liaison with international tourism.
Personally, she has performed humanitarian work from the mountainous regions of Mexico to Malawi, Africa, as well as travelling to regions of Italy and France as part of her culinary career. Currently, Claudia is putting her skills to use with a project involving Women Empowering Women in Peru.
